About Us

Seaford Sessions

Seaford Sessions started in 2018 with the aim of promoting unforgettable, professional shows featuring the best live Folk, Roots, Americana and other similar acoustic music.

As well as a great evening of music, we provide a very reasonably priced bar with a selection of drinks, including local ales, and a friendly welcome. Our doors open at 6.30pm, to leave plenty of time for people to circulate and socialise. We are a ’listening’, seated venue so the bar is closed during performances.

Our venue is Seaford Little Theatre - a lovely, intimate space with part-raked, part-cabaret seating, and full stage lighting. We have a full professional sound system. Shows start promptly at 7.30pm and as there are no support acts, we normally finish around 9.45pm.

Please note, we are a cashless venue.

We are a not-for-profit community venture with a team of volunteers working behind the scenes researching and booking bands, publicity and promotion, and organisation of the shows on the night. All the money from tickets goes towards paying the artists and improving our services to benefit our audience. Our prime aim is quality live music in Seaford.

Committee

Seaford Sessions is run by a committee of volunteers - Mairin Colleary (chair), Andy Dyer (finance), Arwyn Thomas (music), Andrea Hargreaves (publicity), Adele Walshe (technical).

Information for Artists and Agents

The music we book falls generally into the categories of Americana, Folk, Roots, and Blues and is primarily acoustic instrument-based.

We mainly book bands i.e. 3+ musicians, although we occasionally feature singer-songwriter or folk duos. We are not a folk or bluegrass club as such, so we are looking for bands with a varied set list, good vocals and a strong musical and visual appeal to entertain and engage with our mainly local (and enthusiastic) audience. Please note, we do not have support acts.

Our current venue is a small theatre with part raked, part cabaret or rowed seating. We have a good-sized stage and lighting, bar, green room etc. Capacity is 100 seated and it is a very warm, intimate, venue to play in – you’re right up close to an enthusiastic audience. Also, we are a listening venue – we close the bar during performances.

We provide a quality PA and professional sound engineer, unless bands make their own arrangements. Our PA spec is: Midas M32R, DL32 Stagebox, KV2 EX12 Mains, KV EX Sub, DB Fmx12 Monitors, HK Elias EPX115a Subs,  Achat 4″ Front Fills.

If you think you would like to play at Seaford Sessions, please contact us. Please include links to your Website, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Soundcloud etc. and an indication of your fees. We will only consider bands that have submitted details via the website.

If you’ve contacted us and we might be able to offer you something, then we will contact you. Please be patient, we are all volunteers and we get quite a few requests. Thank you.
